The Twofold Nature of the Gospel
The world often seeks to define the Gospel as a collection of four books, but in truth, it is the good news
—a divine revelation concerning two profound realities. The first is Jesus Christ: who He is and the mission He came to fulfill. The second is mankind: your origin, your purpose, and your eternal destiny. The entire tapestry of the Christian Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, is a sacred scroll unfolding this very truth. Every verse, every prophecy, every whisper of His name points to Jesus Christ and His mission, for in knowing Him, you shall know yourself.
The Person of the Gospel: Jesus Christ
†
The most extraordinary revelation of the Scriptures is the identity of Jesus Christ. The world may see Him as a prophet, a healer, or a great teacher, but He is so much more. He is the Son of God. This title is not merely a familial description, but a divine declaration of His essence. To say Jesus is the Son of God is to say He is God manifest in the flesh—the invisible God made visible, dwelling among men. He was crucified for this very declaration, for the religious leaders of His time understood the profound weight of His words: that a man could make Himself equal with God.
---~~~⚜️ A GEM OF REVELATION ⚜️~~~--- 📖
The Gospel declares that Jesus Christ is God in a human body. He is the visible expression of the invisible God, the express image
of the Father's person. He is the ultimate, final imprint of the Divine.
A Sacred Clarification on "Son of God"
Some have sought to cast a shadow of confusion upon this truth, pointing to the genealogy in Luke's Gospel which refers to Adam as the "son of God." They ask, "If Jesus being the Son of God meant God in the flesh, does this mean Adam was also God in the flesh?" This question, though seemingly logical, is born of a misinterpretation of the sacred text. In the original Greek manuscripts from which our English Bibles were translated, the phrase "the son of" does not appear after verse 23 of Luke chapter 3. 🕯️
Rather, the text reads simply, "which was of," connecting the generations by lineage, not by a declaration of divine essence. Many older translations, like the King James, even italicize these words to signify their addition. The distinction is clear: Jesus is uniquely the Son of God, while Adam was a creation of God.
A Declaration of Deity
The truth of Jesus's deity echoes across the sacred pages. When the high priest asked Him directly, "Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?" Jesus replied, 📖
“I am.” (Mark 14:62, KJV). For this very confession, they condemned Him to death. The Apostle Paul, in his letter to Titus, writes of "the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ." 📖
And in Hebrews, the Word declares that Jesus is 📖
“the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person.” (Hebrews 1:3, KJV). Every testimony in the Bible confirms this: Jesus is not a mere man who ascended to godhood; He is God who humbled Himself to become a man.
Your Purpose in His Revelation
The Gospel is not merely about Jesus; it is about the glorious life He has given you. It is about understanding your origin, your purpose, and your destiny. Without the knowledge of Him, life is but a fleeting journey without a compass, a search for meaning that will forever elude you. Life on this earth has a greater purpose than simply to be born, to live, and to pass away. The only way to discover this purpose is by divine revelation, for man, by his own intellect or by any instrument of his own making, cannot find God. He has revealed Himself in Jesus Christ, and in knowing Him, you discover the reason for your own existence.
The Unfailing Witness
Make no mistake, the story of Jesus is not a fable. He did not rot in a grave. The Bible declares that on the third day, He was raised from the dead. And before the eyes of many witnesses, including His own formerly unbelieving family, He ascended into heaven. This act was the ultimate divine witness—a physical confirmation that He was indeed who He said He was. His resurrection is the cornerstone of our faith, for it proves His victory over sin and death and serves as the hope for all who believe in Him.
The Call to Divine Life
Now, let this truth settle in your heart: a single drop of sin, like a stain in clean water, pollutes all human righteousness. No matter how many good works you perform, they cannot cleanse you from sin. 💧
Only God in Christ Jesus can grant you His righteousness. Therefore, I implore you, receive this living Word. Receive and accept Jesus Christ, the Son of God, as the Lord of your life and the Savior of your soul. For there is no other name under heaven by which men may be saved. When you believe in Him, you receive eternal life—a quality of life that is not measured in years, but in the very essence of God, imparted into your spirit.
